What's with my new obsession with paper flowers?

Maybe 'cause I'm too cheap to purchase myself beautiful boquets of real flowers? Or, 'cause it's so freaking dry (yet humid) here in Houston this summer that growing beautiful blooms requires more water than I can justify using?
