My New Toy (Canon Rebel XSi DSLR)

It's Christmas in July here in Houston - despite the still blistering heat. My uber-cool Canon Rebel XSi DSLR arrived today - Woo friggin' hoo! This awesome toy will surely allow me to take photos a la Annie Leibovitz in short order. Meanwhile, I did capture this:

Two of my favorite things: The Boy's Foot & Sharpie Pens

For reasons I'd rather not discuss, I'm entirely obsessed with straightening and organizing Casa Crafty Green Mom - that means doing something about the MESS that is presently our middle bedroom/my studio/my office. It's basically impassable - the best we can hope for is not to stub a toe or fall and die while passing through to our bedroom. That said, productivity in said disaster area is not presently an option. Here's a small selection of what I've pulled out of the room for organizing:

In case you can't tell. There's a stack ... well, a few stacks of fabric (all freshly laundered) punch needle/embroidery thread, sewing thread, ribbons, patterns, a menagerie of magazines. I have given myself until end of day Friday to get at least this selection cleaned up, organized, inventoried and back into the "craft room" ... or whatever we'll call it.

So, obviously I needed magazine files - cause we all know that just standing up magazines doesn't really cut it. On the way home from dinner I picked up these gems:

$12.99 for 6 "Faux Bois" Magazine Files at Office Depot. And when I say "Faux Bois", I really mean stinkin' ugly. So I covered them in some cute scrapbook paper I have around... and now they look like this:

Not the awesomest ever, but much cuter. And, I have the handy-dandy lables that I picked up at Michael's a while back.

And, now - I have six newly covered magazine files in the shelves in my ... office, that contain a selection of my prized knitting magazines. Which I can now find when I am next looking for them.
